Where’s the food?

a niggling doubt that something was missing

I was recently scrolling through social media perusing wedding breakfast table settings and had a niggling doubt that something was missing. Then it dawned on me, the actual wedding breakfast itself!  Having the image of a perfectly displayed place setting, without a perfectly displayed food dish baffled me, after all, that’s what the copper coated cutlery and geo-themed napkins are there for, right?

In light of this, we of course we jumped at the chance of being involved in a fabulous photo shoot with one of our recommended countryside venues, Stratton Court Barn earlier this year. We had previously had lots of fun their 2016 woodland shoot and creating our mini toadstool canapes, we couldn’t wait to hear all about their 2017 theme; Country Elegance.

This set our, well, head chef Nick’s, juices flowing; we wanted to create the perfect 3 courses that would be fit for a luxurious dining experience with a touch of Lemon Zest flare. Not only wanting to complement our style of food and presentation, but showing dishes that can be created for all weddings.

Behold our ‘Elegance’ menu.

Starter: Prawn Cocktail, Marie Rose Sauce, Rocket Bed

Main: Pork Belly, Crispy Crackling, Caramalised Apples, Herb Mashed Potato

Dessert: Chocolate Pot, Clementine Syrup, Crème Fraiche

Evening munchies: Selection of Movenpick Ice Cream

I am sure you will agree that the food compliments the crockery beautifully and completes the look? Or maybe we are just biased because that’s what we do.
